When just quickly glancing at the south Florida landscape, it can appear to be very monochromatic. Zooming down the highway to get to the beach you whiz by varying hues of greens, grays, and tans. What most visitors don’t realize about this area, though, is the vast beauty that lurks amidst the bland palate of the prairies and marshes, if you just take the time to slow down and look.
The fact that the beauty is in the details down here makes you appreciate it that much more. I’m not looking out my window everyday at fields of colorful flowers, but when I go off the beaten path and truly pay attention to everything around me, sometimes I can spot a gem.
Or if I’m lucky maybe even a few.
And even those seemingly boring plants can be pretty spectacular if you stop and really look at them.
In life, as in nature, sometimes you have really make the effort to appreciate all the little things around you. But I think that just makes them all the more wonderful.

Courtney-
Sounds as if you are in the right place at the right time……enjoy the journey and continue keeping your eyes and ears open to experience the magic and the majesty of the world around you. I am enjoying the magic of Florida through your blog.
Thank you!
Courtney,
I really enjoy your blog & found out today when I saw my sister Chris Martin that she follows it as well. Keep updating & we will keep reading. I don’t have any expectation that Andrew will make any entries; I feel lucky when he answers the phone.
Love you both,
John
